Our Story

Olivia and Mike first met in 2021 while working as biologists at the IIT Research Institute. Serendipity played its part when Mike was invited to a Galentine's Day event celebrating the single women in the office—a stroke of luck indeed. From their first meeting, Olivia and Mike realized they had a special connection. Mike left that evening determined to pursue a deeper relationship.

Olivia, on the other hand, was blissfully unaware and adamant they would remain just friends, as her friends recall. But Mike had

other plans. He suggested an outing with the same group the following week, and once again, sparks flew between them. Shortly after, Mike asked Olivia on a date.

At the time, Mike lived in the suburbs and drove into Chicago for their first date, which included an evening of walks, sushi, sake, and conversation.

They strolled through the city and dined in the park, where Olivia, ever pragmatic, laid out all her cards. Over five hours of continuous conversation, laughter, and connection, it became clear to both that this was something special.

Soon after, families were introduced, feelings deepened, and a very special pup was welcomed into their lives. In 2022, Olivia and Mike moved in together and have been enjoying sushi together ever since.
